Marauders Liberate Food Supply

Skhylar and the Marauders made plans to liberate the food supply from the castle for the Underground. Audfrith received Faeth's message as the Raven found her in the woods. Audfrith scouted the travel path ahead of the cart, having to kill only one man who was guarding the delivery area.

[12:23] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith silently scouted ahead of the stolen food cargo, watching for solitary guards whose alert might bring others. The path had been strangely clear, the way that Faeth had predicted, but Aud wanted to be absolutely sure that the important food that the Ravener had worked so hard to liberate made it to its destination. She had continued trapping animals for the Underground movement, but she was only one person, and had depleted her own food supply. This madness had to end soon. She sniffed the air and caught a scent of something -- human? She frowned at the thought, when only last month, she had said to Sigi that she wished there were more humans in Skarvald. Well, she almost said out loud to herself, Tha' will Thee Teach nae t' Oden speak. She vowed not to say such things aloud ever again, as she melded into the shadows to see who was approaching.

[13:22] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith held her breath as the human came closer. It was the two Feescher girls, heading back home. They would not take the same path as the stolen food was coming down, she knew. She felt a wave of relief as the over-perfumed teenagers chattered to each other down the other path. She kept still an additional minute to smell and hear the area. Nothing new. She stepped out of the shadows and continued toward the storage area where the food was to be stowed for those in hiding.

[14:29] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith had a clear passage as Faeth had predicted, up until she was almost at the entrance of the storage area, where the food would be hidden for delivery to those of the underground. There was one guard standing watch. Audfrith slid into the shadows and watched him for almost a full minute. He seemed tired and distracted, not expecting any trouble. Aud contemplated trying to find a way to let him live. But she knew that her opportunity was closing. The cart of stolen food would be arriving soon. "What Odin Will," she thought to herself, and stepping out of the shadow, she had slit the guard's throat from behind before he fully saw her. His eyes lit up in recognition of her, and she realized it was one of the guards who had tried to run her down when she had helped Yeshi'va. But his voice no longer worked, and only blood came when he attempted to call for help. And then he was dead. Aud moved his body, took his weapons, and slid back into the shadows to wait for the cart to arrive.

[15:10] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith had waited longer than she had expected. She thought briefly about going back to check on the passage that the stolen food cart would be taking, but she knew that she was more needed here, protecting the delivery point against stray guards or others who might wander up and alert the Faithful to what was happening. She adjusted her position in the shadows and settled in to wait.
