Audfrith's Killing Spree

Audfrith's Killing Spree

For the rolls, the first number is the one that the dice returned. The number at the end of the description is what Aud needed to do the thing successfully. I estimated percentages of success based on Aud's history and her preparation for this task.

[11:39] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith had been stalking Trueblut's guard outposts for three nights now, so she knew that when the change of the guards happened, the next two would not come for another four hours. She had planned her route carefully, using paths that she knew provided hiding places and fast get-aways. She had dug five shallow graves in the last three days, and she would do what she could to put 10 bodies into them tonight.

[11:47] Audfrith (emmiedee): [11:40] Audfrith rolls Dice (CC:13e1a): 60, to kill T's men x2 no probs, 50 +
[11:48] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith entered the stone ring quietly, remembering the patch of twigs behind one. One guard stood pissing. The other had gone for water. Aud came up quickly behind the man holding his dick loosely, slit his throat in one smooth motion, and he fell limply to the ground. She stalked the second guard through the woods, finding him bending to retrieve firewood. His head "clanged" softly against the butt of her sword, and she felt no shame or remorse as she slit his throat also, deeply enough in the right way that she knew his death was instantaneous. She dragged both bodies to the shallow silty mud hole that she had dug yesterday and pushed them in, scraping dirt over them. They would not likely be noticed by anyone simply passing.
She nodded to herself at the deed done and made her way towards her next target.
[11:50] Audfrith (emmiedee): [11:49] Audfrith rolls Dice (CC:13e1b): 106, to make it to next target unseen, 30+

[11:59] Audfrith (emmiedee): [11:57] Audfrith rolls Dice (CC:13e1c): 41, take out 2 guards at watch tower n o probs 60+
[11:58] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e1d): 90, take out one guard no probs +40
[12:11] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith reached the guard tower at the mead hall by climbing the stone wall behind it, so the guard who sat by the horn had no idea she was coming until his head lolled softly on his shoulder. The other guard came back one minute too soon, and saw Audfrith's black form hovering over the other. "Hey,what goes there!" he said, surprised, taking his axe in his hand. Aud slipped by him unharmed, then planted her knife in the back of his neck.
[12:12] Audfrith (emmiedee): [12:08] Audfrith rolls Dice (CC:13e1e): 107, to take down the 2nd guard, after one round altercation, 50+

[12:21] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud dragged the two bodies over the side of the cliff, to the slight ledge beneath, where again, she had prepared a shallow grave to hold them against passing eyes. She nodded again to herself as the third guard came from the Mead Hall and went to Balder's house, just like he always did. Aud slipped back down the bridge and crossed beneath the ridge, heading to her next target.
[12:22] Audfrith (emmiedee): [12:22] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e1f): 48, Aud makes it to her next target undetected, 30+

[12:23] Audfrith (emmiedee): [12:23] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e20): 55, take out two guards, one at a time, with no problems, +45
[12:30] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud came within range of two guards talking at the bottom of the bridge, where she realized again how well the sound carried there. She slipped by and came to the guards that stood at the entrance of the tunnel. She did not know how many others were behind the old door, but her job tonight, she had decided, was to eliminate as many of the ones she could predict as possible. She waited for almost half an hour in the brush off the clearing, waiting for her opportunity. It came when one guard announced his intentions to "make the rounds." She waited until he had left, then took the remaining guard from behind as she had the others, with a clean slice across his neck. She stalked the missing guard through the woods until she could approach him from behind, downing him before he knew she was there. She dragged both bodies back to a shallow grave she had made beside the rocks, then threw the rocks in on top of them. A man would have to look carefully or bring dogs to find them, or else wait until the [12:30] Audfrith (emmiedee): smell of the bodies brought the predators out.

[12:44] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith reached the hill at the watch tower at almost exactly the time she had predicted. She knew that the guards who were on duty now had been here for half their shift already, and they would be taking a break for dinner soon. She waited until the one guard stood up and went to the fire, stirring it. She came out of the shadows behind the other guard, about 100 yards away, and heard only a grunt as his body fell to the ground, blood spurting from his neck. She slid back into the shadows before the other guard could turn around and return. He came back speaking until he saw the first guard slumped at his post. "By Thor's Hammer!" he exclaimed, just as Audfrith emerged from the shadows again, stabbing him in his throat and dodging his blade as it fell with no effect beside her. She again dragged these bodies to the shallow graves she had prepared, throwing dirt and some rocks over top of them to prevent them from immediately being seen.
[12:44] Audfrith (emmiedee): [12:38] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e21): 78, to take down two guards at lookout, no problems, 40+

[12:48] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud made her way more slowly now. The two guards that stood outside the Marketplace were her final targets, and she knew that she could quit now and find her way back to the shadows of the woods, and she would still have accomplished a meaningful strike against Trueblut. But she wanted to make the point, that his men could be killed right under his nose, and so, she thought he might believe, could he. But the guard presence around the market was thicker as always. She slid into the shadows outside of the Blacksmith's shop and waited for any chance that might come.
[12:50] Audfrith (emmiedee): [12:49] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e22): 85, to make it into hiding at the marketplace 60+

[13:20] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud decided to dodge the guards who created a large mob inside the back gate and try to kill the front guards instead. There were three of them, but they often became distracted and wandered into the market, she had noticed.
[13:20] Audfrith (emmiedee): Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e23): 69, to make it around the market to the front gate without being hailed 50+

[13:23] Audfrith (emmiedee): [13:22] Audfrith rolls Dice (CC:13e24): 109, to get a chance to kill one guard alone 70+
[13:26] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud waited until she found her chance, and it took almost two hours, but it did come. Finally, two guards had left the third standing alone, and he wandered out only a little into the shadows in front of the market. The water sloshed against the sides of the dock, but there were no ships coming or going, and no movement on the dark planks except for rats. Audfrith took her moment and moved quietly out of the shadows. The guard barely noticed her before his body crumpled beneath her. She dragged him quickly into the side shadows and waited on the second to come back.

[13:31] Audfrith (emmiedee): [13:30] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e25): 87, to get surprise on the 2nd guard and kill him quietly 60+
[13:35] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud almost felt rather than heard the second guard coming back. She fell back and let him come to her, asking into the shadows, "Who is there? Come out, y'hear?" Aud whispered, "I hear you," into his ear as she slid her foot between his, taking him off balance right into her blade, his larger and heavier form falling from gravity to its own death. She brought her mind to the task of dragging the bodies to the side of the market to a crevice she had made in the wall rocks long ago. They were not completely hidden, but they would go unnoticed until the daylight lit up the metal of their Trueblut uniforms.

[13:36] Audfrith (emmiedee): [13:36] Audfrith rolls Basic (CC:13e27): 99, to get away back into the forest into hiding safely 30+
[13:42] Audfrith (emmiedee): Aud slid back into the shadows beside the docks and made her way quickly by her own house, deciding not to risk going back there. She did not know if the portal to the Temple was still holding inside her little house, but she did not want to take a chance in bringing any attention to that side of the docks, in case there were guards patrolling there. She found the familiar wolf's den where she had slept with the pregnant wolf before, and she set up sound traps around its perimeter. Once she felt safely hidden, she took some of the last deer jerky she had out of her pouch and ate it slowly. She drank some water from the bota she had hidden here, and she let herself fall into a light sleep into the sunrise.
